Treasurer

Paul Black is a retired attorney, having practiced in Wisconsin and Missouri. He has his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in St Louis with his wife, Rev. Martha Black, who is a retired UCC minister. Paul has served on the Good Samaritan Home Inc board. Currently he is Director and Treasurer of the United Church Camps in Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, Paul was active in Shawano Chamber of Commerce and Shawano Community Foundation.

Kristen Shinn is the Director of Community Support Services. She develops and maintains partnerships with grant funders and other community organizations. She also has experience working with high-risk youth providing training in Crisis Prevention and Human Trafficking Prevention.

Kristen Shinn earned Bachelor of Psychology and Spanish; and Master of Social work at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is serving the first term as a member of the board. With her knowledge and experience in community work, we look forward to seeing a great impact on our ministries.

Mary Alice Ryan was President and CEO of St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors System, which touched the lives of over 8,700 seniors and their caregivers each year. When she retired in 2021, she had been part of St. Andrew’s for 38 years and had ultimate responsibility for the operation of all communities and programs, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing communities, and life plan communities, as well as a management and consulting company, an in-home senior service organization, and a charitable foundation.  She is now President Emeritus.

Annette Lueckenotte is a retired Gerontologic APRN who dedicated more than 40 years to advancing gerontological nursing, establishing herself as a national expert in elder
care. Her influential publications, including Textbook of Gerontologic Nursing and Pocket Guide to Gerontologic Assessment, have earned multiple American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year awards, reflecting her profound impact on the field. Throughout her career across the continuum of care she championed holistic care for older adults, addressing their physical, mental, and social needs with unparalleled expertise and compassion.

In her leadership role as Supervisor for the Missouri Quality Initiative (MOQI) research grant through the University of Missouri, Annette guided 17 advanced practice registered nurses across 16 nursing facilities, reducing avoidable hospitalizations and improving care for thousands of residents. Her ability to mentor staff and implement innovative solutions highlights her dedication to enhancing care systems for older adults.

Annette has also made significant contributions to nursing education, serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor and preceptor to bachelor’s and graduate degree students. Her integration of evidence-based practices into clinical education has inspired future generations of nurses and elevated the standards of gerontological nursing care. Annette is an active member and volunteer in her parish, Immaculate Conception of Dardenne, and lives in O’Fallon, MO with her husband Larry.
